BRUTEFORCE
I have always been fascinated with how our built environment is designed to tell stories, but I ask myself frequently what story is this specific space trying to tell. Often times these stories are deep rooted and so naturalized into the way we interact with these spaces that it ishard to tell. So, I reimagined East and West Berlin Post WWII to explore how built environment within the same medium of brutalism, can tell different stories and cultivate different interactions within these spaces. This experiential exhibit creates a world where design and brutalism as a medium is explored to understand the ways in which East and West Berlin differed in the context of built environments. BRUTEFORCE invites the viewer to discover, feel, and understand the ways each side of Berlin utilized brutalism. Rooted in the architectural style of brutalism, the space is cold, modular, and raw. The result is an an experience that informs not just through reading, but through feeling.

Zeland Airlines
Zeland Airlines started with two elements that had no inherent meaning: the letter Z and the number 3. The project became an opportunity to see how far a story could be built from something simple and seemingly random. Through exploration, I gave purpose to these forms. The negative space of the “Z” gave way to a taking off middle arm of the 3, suggesting an abstract and unique experience. The “3”, that remains structured through the abstraction. Together, they form a mark that feels rooted in the professionalism while leaving room for interpretation and exploration. More than a logo, Zeland Airlines is my demonstration of how narrative and identity can emerge from any starting point. It reflects my approach to branding that finds meaning through forming a story, turning even random inputs into a cohesive and expressive brand system.

Assaulting Spaces
I've always wondered how design influences the way we interact with our spaces, but are their any bad actors in the design process? So I designed Assaulting Spaces to explore defensive design logic and how we can promote recognition of defensive design, unwind conditioning to these spaces, and inform users through experience. This experiential small exhibit creates a world where the logic of defensive design is applied to many different mediums, from audio, layout, image, and book design. Two wooden panels are transformed into an immersive environment allowing users to decide how far they want to delve into the malady that is defensive design logic. The deeper the user goes, the more they become aware of how defensive design logic is implemented in our public spaces and the history of the line of thinking. Rooted in informing through experiencing, the exhibit is raw, uncomfortable, and explorative. The result is a space that is a unforgettable and telling of how designs bad actors have influenced the way we see public space.

Social Issue Clock
This project explores defensive design logic and hostile architecture through the design of a clock intended to introduce a social issue. Focusing on how public spaces are designed to discourage certain behaviors and people, the project examines how seemingly ordinary design decisions can reinforce exclusion and shape our interactions with the built environment. By translating these ideas into a time-based visual system, the clock serves as both a functional object and a point of entry into a larger conversation about the intentions behind design. The completed clocks were made available for purchase to help fund our senior exhibition, extending the project beyond the classroom and contributing to the realization of a collective exhibition. The result challenges viewers to reconsider the role of design in public space and recognize how it can quietly influence who belongs, who feels welcome, and who is pushed away.
